Wendy is an Executive Director for the City View Community Association. She has been active in securing and launching the Bassano Pollinator Garden, acts as a vocal community member during city planning & adjustment meetings as well as volunteers at community events.
As a longtime resident of College Ward, Wendy has been committed to keeping the community clean. She is the founder of the CDN Cleanup Crew, who actively participates in Ottawa's Cleaning the Capital Program.
Within her community, Wendy is an active participant with the local Lutheran Church. She has served as the Church Council President for over six years, helping Faith transform and welcome new families into the community.
Wendy has been an active participant with the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation and Queensway Carleton Hospital Foundation for over 15 years. Together with her team members, the Itty Bitty Titty Committee, she has raised more than $500,000 in support of local cancer research for the Ottawa region.
Wendy is an active volunteer for the Ottawa Catholic School Board. She loves to engage with eager students. Whether it is with the Young Readers Program or helping to coordinate school BBQ's, she is there to inspire and celebrate each students' accomplishments.
Over the years, Wendy has been an active volunteer for the Ottawa Jazz Festival. From helping to setup the festival grounds, cleaning up following an epic concert, to being the chief volunteer coordinator, she is fully committed to helping those around her.
When the pandemic first started, Wendy was quick to act. She leveraged her business to be the first in line to setup Sysco Home Delivery. She had over $50,000 of groceries delivered which were then distributed to neighbours and families in need. This continues to be a great service which helps get quality food into the kitchens in City View.
